The Denver Zoo

Kaylie REALLY wanted to go to the zoo for her birthday.  Luckily this week was also spring break for the boys, so we picked the nicest day and headed to the Denver Zoo.   Kaylie wanted to see the giraffes the most.  The smallest one in the picture was born less than a week before we saw him/her and was named "Blizzard" because, you guessed it,  our one and only blizzard was on that day.  (According to what we overheard someone say while looking at the giraffes!)

There are LOTS of free roaming peacocks and peahens at the zoo.  The kids liked this one the best because he happened to be behind a fence and wasn't "trying to get me" as Kaylie says.
The fish and even the snakes(yuck!) were fascinating to our girl
Dallin and a polar bear.  The other polar bear was swimming.  He repeated the same swimming routine over and over.  Very interesting...  Polar bears are one of my favorites, maybe because I have routines that I repeat over and over .....?  :)
A new friend we met at the zoo.
Sammy couldn't wait to see the elephants
We ended the day with a treat.  Nathan likes ice cream.
No wonder he won't eat the green beans- thanks Daddy!  :)

Kaylie's Birthday

Monday was Kaylie's 3rd Birthday!  We can't believe our baby girl is 3!  We were planning to take her to the zoo on Monday, but it was cold and snowy so we went on Thursday instead(see my next blog :).  She opened her presents in her pajamas right after breakfast so she could play with them all day.  I love her facial expressions in the pictures-
she was so excited!

The Birthday Girl!
A new little baby doll!  Kaylie LOVES little babies to take care of!
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa J!

Kaylie loves playdoh and they were all excited to try out her new "ice cream parlor" set.
She wanted a "Diego" cake (luckily we have a Diego and some of his animal friends).  For those of you who don't know, Diego(Dora the Explorer's cousin) is an animal rescuer.  Kaylie loves animals and loves to "help" Diego reunite baby animals with their mommies and daddies.
Tinkerbell!  She didn't take off this present from Gramma and Grandpa S. all day!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!
Here is a video of Kaylie blowing out the candles.  This is actually a "take two" because it didn't get taped the first time when we thought is was:)  I love her singing, dancing, and laughing-Enjoy!
